The wonderful folk holiday of Maslenitsa is known to all Slavic peoples, from young to old! It is a very joyful, noisy, and beloved holiday. Everyone prepares to greet the spring and bid farewell to winter. The symbols of the holiday are pancakes and the effigy of Maslenitsa.

Our school keeps this tradition alive, and every year, students, teachers, and parents celebrate Maslenitsa. On February 27th, at the "Morfosis" Primary School in Kolossi, we celebrated the holiday with joyful circle dances around the effigy and folk songs performed by the students. There were also competitions, sports relays, and games where the students showed their agility and skills. The entire schoolyard was filled with joy and laughter from the children. Even the local residents, unable to resist their curiosity, watched the events with interest.

The students were dressed in traditional costumes, and the jesters entertained everyone with funny ditties. Of course, there were pancakes! The aromas of freshly baked pancakes filled the classrooms, adding to the festive atmosphere. The students continued the celebration with songs and dances, enjoying delicious fluffy pancakes, as pancakes are the main symbol of Maslenitsa!
